Quite disappointing to only see 5 entries this time. Contestants had to come up with a cover/remix of an electronic artist’s song using their own samples. Well done to identity_crisis for pulling the lead.

Congrats to both Aymes & Ballistique for pulling first this time round. I was going to enter, but thought it unfair since I was writing a killer tune with the samples, besides the fact I didn’t finish it on time after running out of inspiration due to a busy schedule. I’ll try to finish it soon and post it here for everyone to listen to.

Also congrats to all entrants for actually filling out the voteform! Correctly even. I didn’t have to disqualify anyone for not voting! Makes it a pleasure to host this competition!!

Good effort by most who entered, and a few who didn’t for getting votes in on time. I’m particularly sad by Harmonix who firstly didnt’ send one entry in because of a mail stuff up, unfortunately tho the entry time had run out. 2 weeks is fair enough time to get an entry in on time. The reason I’m sad is that the tune which couldn’t be included was quite good. So I’ve included it here for you to download and listen to. Secondly it’s a shame that two people still didn’t get their votes in on time, even after a general reminder to entrants.

This competition was run over 3 or 4 weeks..  I can’t even remember. I ended up forgetting to bring my HD with me to Adelaide when I went back home for Christmas so I didn’t have all the tunes to compose a vote pack . so this competition finished on the 9th of Jan1999 giving contestants more than enough time to write something. Only 3 people didn’t vote which is quite good considering the 29 entries. Well done to all the entrants.

NOTE: There were also a few songs over the limit, some up to the size of 250k zipped...

GC25 Proved to be a very popular groovy comp with 19 entries all up. Unfortunately 4 people did not vote which isn’t too bad. A pity since one got a fairly good score, well, that’s the penalty for not voting, you don’t get your score or feedback. The samples consisted of Techno/Bizzare/D&B samples but entrants could enter any style they liked.

Congratulations to ZonaR for comming 1st.
