Disqualifications
(As a rule now, disqualifications will no longer see their score or position or comments. - Except Last Places.)
There were no disqualifications. 3 People did not submit vote forms, some of
these have emailed me explaining why. I acknowledge Zip.Com.Au has had problems in the
last week with 2 of their 3 connections going down thus making it hard for some people to
get the votepack.
However please note that you will have 2 weeks to vote in GC20 so there should
be no excuses for no vote forms. Also because there are no co-ops in GC20 you must vote if
you enter, well.. if you wish to win something anyway.

- Good groove. Nice use of the organs and the only good "techno" entry.
Good melodies etc.
- This song had a nice chord progression, and was one of the nicer techno songs.
Although I swear the main chorus part sounds like Sharon Apple's song from Macross Plus
w/o the vocals :)

- Good melodies and good use of samples. Variational and interesting.

- Great work MicRippon did on this piece of music. It starts with a good Stereo
panorama wich gives the melody space to launch. The part I like most ist the break with
the flanged Cord structure. Reminds me a bit on BitArts, an Amiga-musician.

- p-v! is god!...ppl should worship him and bulid tampls and castls for him...i now
know that my goal in life is to worship and dedcide my life to p-v! such a telnt ..,such a
vison...in every place in the bible where there is the word god.....it should be changed
to p-v! i never thought some 1 can make such a good tune (like p-v! did..) but now i know
some 1 can........and its P-V!......(dont think that this is writen by p-v! insted of
kraiden....that would be totaly wrong to think) (;!

- I liked the song :) The piano, the rythm, everything was beautiful :) This is
kinda calm song, you can listen to for many hours.
- Although ybrubb.it was good, senn.it was simply better by far because of many
reasons. Besides the great feel and rhythm to it, it also portrayed many different
feelings. In one song many different emotions were played out... And from a tracking
perspective... The bass and percussion were not as "typical" as many songs.
- This song had a very soothing melody, in addition to its slick bassline. The
first pattern, with the "ST-01: Shamus" synth, creates a nice introduction to
the rest of the song (although I thought the intro might of been better if the hihats and
the strings came in perhaps 2 patterns later after having the first pattern- repeat
twice?- with just the "shamus" instrument soloed). What clinched this song for
1st, IMO, was the keychange in order 14.

- hunz shows why he is one of the best trackers around. i realy liked the song ,
and it realy has a nice mood around it. it was a lot of good entries this time , so it was
hard to pick one out as the winner .. but hunz's song is very well made , and i realy
liked it.
- Energetic and very pleasant, smd!.xm has my respects!
- well.....i choose hunz first cauz i think he realy stood out.....his tune was
dark kwel grovy! ..i dont think that the melody was very good...but the atmosphere was the
realy main atrction here! also the drumz ruled!
- I feel that smd!.xm was the best, most versitile use of the samplepack, and
showed the most versitility overall. Hunz did a very good job writing this tune...so...I
give it first place.
- This was hard to choose between smd!.xm, and spacebar.xm as first place.
spacebar.xm only missed out because of some weak chord, lead flows. But overall smd!.xm
was the stronger produced tune giving a 'polished' sound. Good panning combined with
clever orchestration put this ahead of the competition.
file: spacebar.xm
- Well this time we had many unfinished/short tunes. I choosed (spacebar.xm) as the
top tune for gc19. For me it was one of the most complete and coherent tune in the pack,
and its top aspects are: the 'realistic' play with the rezsweep, the good and somewhat
original drum track, the solid bassline, and the fact that it suited perfectly my mood. ;)
The weak point would be that the tune is a bit monotonous (same chords, bassline during
the whole tune)
- This song was very very nice, with it's solid bassline. Excellent idea to use the
"lazar" instrument in a percussive fashion! The only problem is that I thought
it became somewhat dull after a while...
file: ybrubb.it
- There was quite a hard competition between first and second place, but Yannis
won.
- I ranked ybrubb.it as first, simply because it was the only tune to stick in my
head. Some tunes were technically better and they had a lot more work done to them, but
good tracking isn't always an intellectual exercise. Yannis' tune basically had that
energy which was lacking in the rest. A lot of Yannis cliche, but who cares. Not
necessarily the best track, but my favourite.
file: spasm.it
- well, the way this tune gets into your mind and you can't rip it off is
incredible. I've found myself singing it sometimes while walking or riding my motorbike. I
think it just rules, and not only is good for groovycompo, but it is one of the best tunes
i've ever heard (tracked, ofcoz). One more werd to you, zep ;)

- hmm .. it was realy not much crappy songs this time. but iff i should but one on
last place , this must be it . i diden't like it as much as i liked the others.
file: pv(cow).it
- PV, where´s your fintune? And why this experimental solo? Kinda dissonant to my
ears :( But you sure had much work on it...
- I'm sorry but a tune sticks out like a sore thumb if the samples are not tuned.
There may have been worse tracked tunes, but this one left my ears hurting. Concentrate on
tuning the samples next time, and you'll find you'll improve in score dramatically!

- I've heard music from Djzip before. But this time he was in a bit of a hurry,
hehe. This wasn't the best from him.
file: funkadlq.it
- I greatly disliked the dissonance and repetition in funkadlq.it
- Hmm, not really a `bad' tune this time but (Funkadlq.it) is really a pain to hear
because I, as a listener, had the feeling that it was the result of a certain amount of
work wasted by a really weak tuning of the samples.
- It wasn't all that bad really, but you there unfortunately the only lamer to
track in the pack. I think it's about time we had a new logo for the competition.
file: ge-deco.it
- Sadly enough, this song actually started quite well till the non-stop, insane,
rez filter sliding part came up :) Not only did it sound extremely odd, it was annoying
since it seemed quite random.
